Winter Blooms...

This Winter has given me the gift of time, quiet moments to spend developing my small studies into new sculpture.

During last Autumn's art residency I challenged myself to create smaller sculptural works that could easily be exhibited in locations where my large scale installations were not possible. This new series of work retains the familiar environmental thread of using reclaimed plastics but is now combined with open mesh structures I've crocheted using stainless steel wire.  Once again my boundless celebration of nature blooms, transforming forgotten synthetic materials into organic sculptural form.
